Image classification from raw photos to reviewable results
Plan the collection, transformations, evaluation groups, and review process behind a meaningful visual classification.
Read the guide ↗Examine the preparation steps before classification: decoding, resizing, channel handling, and a traceable transformation history.
Write the input assumptions before choosing a processing sequence. Record the expected dimensions, color representation, and intended output. Keep the unmodified source separate from derived files. A transformation should have a task-specific reason, not be added simply because it is common in a tutorial. Review the result visually before evaluating a model against it.
Include unusual aspect ratios, small images, unexpected channels, and invalid inputs. Decide which cases should be rejected rather than silently altered. Compare image preparation during evaluation with preparation in the intended application. Different pipelines can create a comparison that is not actually testing the same task.
