Before installing an AI browser plugin: a permission checklist
Review extension access, page context, remote processing, updates, and removal using a contained, non-sensitive test.
Read the guide ↗Explore Safari research workflows and extension questions without assuming that Chrome behavior transfers unchanged to Apple platforms.
Apple’s Safari web extension documentation describes extensions built with web technologies and platform-specific packaging. This does not make every extension interchangeable between browsers. For a tool you are evaluating, list the exact functions you need: access to a selected passage, a page annotation, or a saved reference. Verify each function in the intended Safari environment instead of treating a browser logo as proof of compatibility.
Open a long source, enlarge its text, follow an anchor, and return to your notes. On a small screen, check whether controls remain reachable without covering the evidence. Include a permission-denied case in the test. A readable website and a packaged extension are separate deliverables; NeuroBrowser.com provides the former as an educational resource and does not distribute a Safari extension.
